Toshiba is bringing back its Satellite Pro line of notebook computers, which are geared towards small businesses. The latest models are designed to meet the demands of business professionals who want multimedia features but don’t want to pay over $1K. The Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 and Toshiba Satellite Pro A210 will load Intel and AMD processors, respectively, and start at $699.
These are the first Satellite Pro models Toshiba has introduced to the US market since 2003. Presumably, the return of the Toshiba Satellite Pro line was spurred by the introduction of small-biz competitors like the Dell Vostro and HP Compaq machines.

The Toshiba Satellite Pro A200-EZ2204X features an Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 120GB hard drive. The Toshiba Satellite Pro A210 series will launch with two laptops, the A210-EX2202X and the A210-EX2203X, featuring AMD Turion X2 TL-58 processors, up to 2GB of RAM, and mobile HDDs up to 120GB in capacity. The new designs share a lot of the features with their non-Satellite brethren, including 15.4-inch TruBrite screens and color options that include Toshiba’s Onyx blue and Classic black.
For AMD, the new Satellite Pro is Toshiba’s first notebook manufactured around its processors.
“Five of the top ten vendors now have AMD in their commercial lineup, which is double what we had last year at this time,”
said Jonathan Seckler, AMD’s senior product marketing manager
